2-½cupsall-purpose flour, dividedplus more for kneading
1teaspoonssalt
1cupfrozen blueberries
Vegetable oil
Instructions
In a small mixing bowl, add 1 cup of warm water, the yeast, and 1-½ tablespoons of sugar. Stir gently. Let stand for 5 minutes or until foam and bubbles form.
In a large bowl, add 2-¼ cups of flour and the salt. Gradually stir in the water mixture. Continue mixing until a soft dough forms. Fold in the blueberries.
Spread ½ cup of flour onto a work surface and gently knead the dough just until it firms up and is elastic.
In another bowl, lightly oil the bowl and add the dough. Cover with a clean cloth and place in a warm, undisturbed spot for an hour. The dough will double in size.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface. Divide dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a smooth ball. Using your thumb, punch and smooth a hole into the center of the dough ball.
Place the dough rings on a baking sheet, cover, and let rest for 25 minutes.
Add a piece of parchment paper to the bottom of the air fryer basket. Preheat air fryer to 350°F.
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add 8 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Bring to a boil.
When the dough is finished proofing, carefully dunk one bagel into the boiling water bath for 3 minutes minutes. Using a strainer with a handle, transfer the boiled bagel to the air fryer basket. Repeat with one more bagel.
Air fry bagels for 10 minutes, turning over at 6 minutes. Bagels should be golden brown. Transfer the bagels to a serving plate. Repeat the boiling and air-frying steps with the remaining bagels.
Serve warm with cream cheese or your other favorite toppings.
