With the right amount of sweet, spicy, salty, and savory, you have the perfect balance of flavors for your country style ribs. It is very easy to make ahead of time and can be stored for up to 12 months. The dry rub recipe makes enough for about 4 pounds of country-style ribs.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons packed dark brown sugar
  • 1-½ tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1-½ tablespoons onion powder
  • 1-½ tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1-½ tablespoons kosher salt Morton's Brand
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, add the brown sugar, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, dry mustard, ground cumin, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well until combined.
  • Use immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 12 months.

Notes

This dry rib rub can be stored for up to 12 months. However, the mixture will begin to lose its robust flavor the longer it is stored. 
Use a pint canning jar with a resealable lid for ease of use. You may also want to get spice lid covers that fit onto canning jars, but this is not necessary.
