Notes
*Nutritional information is calculated using the Italian sausage, green bell peppers, and a sub-style bun. Different types of buns can vary substantially. No condiments are included in the calculations. Some air fryer brands state that you don't need to reheat them. I prefer to preheat my air fryer for about 5 minutes or until fully heated. I am more confident in the cooking temps and times when I do preheat the air fryer.Italian sausage brands will all cook at roughly the same amount of time as long as they are links, under about 4 ounces in weight.Any brand of Italian sausage will work in this recipe as long as they are sausage links and each weighs about 4 ounces. I especially love Johnsonville sausages, but I will occasionally use some specially prepared ones from my butcher or local market. You can use mild, hot, or sweet Italian sausages or try different spice blends at different times.Sausages should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) as read by a digital meat thermometer.Temp the same sausage while cooking so the others are not pierced.
